Man proposes - God disposes

I had great plans for today
A to-do list as long as my arm
Tasks overlapping each other
And not enough hours in the day

Did I do anything on my list?
No.
Why?
It starts with 'c' and ends with 's' and rhymes with 'far stubbles'!

Did the earth stop spinning?
No.
And those oh-so-important tasks?
They can wait one more day.

Today was truly a test of my favourite mantra
'This too shall pass'
And this I know for sure
'Man proposes, God disposes!'
