"Mother always peed with the door open. I remember saying, 'You know, now I have friends over! You can't do that anymore! It's gotta stop! My friends' parents don't do it! Give me a break here! I don't feel like being embarrassed! It's exhausting! I'm a kid! Stop!'" Alexis, 46, says in the book, according to ABC News.
"There was never anything to eat at my house. Other people had food. I had no food . . . There were ingredients but no prepared food of any kind."
"My mother has a sign on all of her doors to take your shoes off," Alexis writes. "For God's sake! My mother's dogs p--s and s--t on her rugs and she's telling people to take their shoes off?"
I'm not really a huge Martha Stewart fan - her perfection wears me out - but I do have issues with those who use access to celebrities as a stepping stone to their own celebrity status. And sadly, in today's world, this is happening all the time!
I also have issues with 'celebrity' off-spring who turn around and criticize their 'celebrity' parents, clearly forgetting that it was the parent's hard work and determination (yes, it is hard work being a celebrity!) that got them to where they are today! (Ashley Judd, Bristol Palin do pay attention!)
Dear Martha, if you ever read this, do accept my apologies for Alexis's disrespectful comments about you in her book! (Although I hear you are not really angry about it...Really...?)
Maybe I am a bit too old-school, a bit too rigid, a bit too set in my ways. But I just think some 'parental respect' boundaries have been crossed.
Or maybe I just have too much time on my hands to keep listening to these silly stories!
I always hated M.S. Until she took a bull sh*t rap in that stock thing and went to jail without a wimper or complaint. She was worth 100 million, and saved $1200 on insider trading for crap sake. And if she didn't sell, she would have doubled her investment. Anyway she is a bit of a wacko, but a standup lady....but please, shut the door!

I do admire her business sense and ability to build an empire from such humble beginnings! As for the door - each to thy own!
