Zzzzzzzzzzz....

I love my sleep.

It is refreshing. It is relaxing. And it is good for you.

I don't know how much exactly is good for each person, but those who should know, say somewhere in the range of 6 - 8 hours is sufficient for adults and 9 - 10 hours for children. I'd rather work with the kids numbers! I usually get about 9 hours of sleep each night. (Thank God for DVRs). And when I can't get all the hours I 'need', I 'bank' the hours I've missed so I can catch up later.

I also should mention that I rarely sleep during the day. For me, that seems like such a waste of the daylight hours. Not even on the weekends. Sleep, for me, is a night time treat! A gift for surviving the hassles of the day.

When faced with a choice between sleep and a really good night out, can you believe I have to 'think' about what to choose?! I know it seems pretty obvious, but I really love my sleep! Slipping beneath the crisp clean sheets, nicely curled up, room temperature just right, lights off and the pillows so soft - bliss! Making a choice between fun and sleep at night is always a serious dilemma for me. And it has absolutely nothing to do with age too! I've been this passionate about my sleep since I was little.

I ultimately choose the fun event (it would be rude not to(!) and I do hate to miss out on fun!) and then I schedule the sleep for later.

(I guess, if you don't like sleep like I do, then you're probably thinking 'How on earth did I end up on this crazy blog?? .... Sorry! There are other posts in the blog that you might enjoy.)

So that's how I got to where I am today. It's Saturday the 22nd of May and tomorrow is sleep day. After 4 weeks of back-to-back fun, travel, laughter, great food, early starts, late nights and generally - A REALLY GOOD TIME - I'm now going to catch up on my sleep!

I can't even begin to express how excited I am about this....(I must remember to unplug my phone as well. I'd hate to be disturbed by the ringing of the phone!)

My bed beckons.....

What do you have planned for your weekend?
